Feldspars are the most important igneous rocky minerals. Feldspars are divided into three groups: calcium, potassium and sodic. Anorthite is a calcic type of feldspar with chemical formula (CaAl2Si2O8), and the chemical formula of alkyte (NaAlSi3O8), the sodic feldspar type, and the potassium feldspar, with chemical formula (KAlSi3O8), are its feldspar type.Some potassium feldspar are Sanidine, Orthoclase, Microcline and Adularia. Anorthite and Albit, for this privilege that can be substituted are able to take part in the mineral structure of Plagioclase. Between Sodium Feldespar (Albite) and Potassium Feldspar, there are limited substitution and feldspars of this series are known as Alkani Feldspars.
Generally, the major industries that consume Feldspar group minerals include glass industry (glassware, fiberglass), ceramic industries (ceramic body, tile, sanitary ware, etc.) glazes, fillers, washers and welding electrodes .Unprocessed feldspar is used in the production of alumina from nefelin cinnit, hard stone used in road construction, flame retardation in refining industries, and so on.The commercial separation of minerals from the Feldspat Group includes potassium feldspars with a minimum K2O = 0.10, and sodium felespar with a minimum Na2O=0.07. Total amount of alkali oxide (k2O, Na2O)determines its consumption in glass industry.
